Mini-Grants
Washington State's Mental Health Transformation Project started the Consumer and Family Evaluation Mini-Grant Program in 2006. Consumer/family/youth-run evaluation is critical to consumer-directed services and to achieving true system transformation. Short-term grants are awarded and include technical assistance and training, as well as a comprehensive tool-kit. WIMHRT administers this program until the end of the MHTP (2009-2010). For more information, contact Cindy Willey at ckw4@u.washington.edu.
Peer Specialist Training
Beginning in 2009, in cooperation with DSHS/MHD, WIMHRT has conducted 40-hour Peer Specialist Certification training several times a year. During the training, participants share an interactive learning experience in preparation for state certification. Subjects include:
- Navigating the Public Mental Health Systems
- Strengths-based Recovery Planning
- Mutual Support and Self-Help Groups
- Promoting Hope and Empowerment

Clubhouse Assistance
In 2008, the Washington State Legislature approved additions to the WA Admin Code (WAC) that established standards for clubhouses that provide psychiatric rehabilitation and recovery services to adults with psychiatric disabilities.
